la découverte par hasard d’un bol égyptien « à pieds » vieux de 5000 ans, penché en avant dans un mouvement de salut, m’a donné envie de créer des bols avec cette même pose

il me restait des bols biscuités en juin en terre graineuse de shigaraki avec leurs nez qui peuvent faire aussi penser à des mains jointes en gasshô, en prière.

j’ai poli les pieds à la meuleuse mais en me trompant la première fois sur l’orientation du bol : il penchait à l’arrière, en regardant le ciel.

cette sérendipité m’a plu et m’a conduit à meuler les bols afin qu’il puissent avoir trois positions : vers l’arrière regardant le ciel, neutre, penché vers l’avant en salut, en révérence

cela fait des bols en position de prière (de rêve) ou de gratitude

des jizowan-地蔵碗

les premiers chamans de cette série ont été utilisés lors de la chakai-茶会 nagori de hanzawa tsuruko sensei du mois

The accidental discovery of a 5,000-year-old Egyptian "footed" bowl, leaning forward in a gesture of greeting, inspired me to create bowls in the same pose.

 

I had some bisque-fired bowls left over from June, made from the grainy clay of Shigaraki, with their noses that could also be seen as hands joined in Gasshō, in prayer.

 

I polished the feet with a grinder, but the first time I got the orientation of the bowl wrong: it was leaning backward, looking at the sky.

 

This serendipity pleased me and led me to grind the bowls so that they could have three positions: leaning backward looking at the sky, neutral, and leaning forward in greeting, in reverence.

 

This results in bowls in a position of prayer (of dream) or gratitude.

 

They are Jizowan-地蔵碗.

 

The first shamans of this series were used during the Chakai-茶会 Nagori of Hanzawa Tsuruko Sensei of the month.

偶然に見つけた5000年前のエジプトの「足付き」のボウルが前方に傾いて挨拶する姿勢で、私は同じポーズでボウルを作ることに興味を持ちました。

 

6月には、粒子の多い信楽の土で作ったビスク焼きのボウルが残っており、その鼻は合掌している手にも見えます。
